Hospital Galenia opened in 2006 and has attracted a large number of international patients, most of whom travel from the US and Canada. The facility has a department dedicated to Medical Tourists.

The Hospital is the only Level 5 Hospital in the state of Quintana Roo and the only hospital in Mexico holding the Certificate of Medical Attention Establishments granted by Joint Commission International (JCI), Accreditation Canada International (ACI) and the General Health Council (CSG).

The medical staff is board-certified. Physicians have been trained in medical schools and hospitals around the world. The Hospital is geared towards foreign patients, and provides services such as accommodation arrangements, transportation to and from your hotel, a personal escort and insurance coordination. The medical staff provides services in more than 70 specialties and the facilities include private rooms, equipped with phone and an internet connection.
