The best way is to complete your FREE QUOTE (top left). This way you get the most accurate price based on hundreds of previous prices we’ve stored in our database. Some more general pricing info may also be available when you search based on that particular hospital.
Please note these prices are intended as a guideline, and although accurate, they may not necessarily reflect the cost to you. Cosmetic surgery, in particular, is very often tailored to each individual's needs to help them achieve the desired result. As an example, facial rejuvenation is a combination of both surgical and non-surgical treatments. Whereas one person may require a full facelift and some skin resurfacing treatments, another may require only a lower facelift, and maybe some eye treatments. The prices may, therefore, be very different.
You pay for the treatment at the hospital or clinic, in the local currency. Most places accept cash, and also other payment options, including bank transfers, credit, debit cards, and traveler cheques. If there are any doubts, just ask your coordinator at the hospital before you leave.
Given that our service to you is 100% free, there’s nothing to gain by going directly to the hospital, instead, you miss out on the service we provide our customers. Our Customer Support Team can offer you additional piece of mind and help to answer any of your questions, based on our experience of foreign patient referrals. Our partnerships are so highly regarded by the hospitals, that our customers will jump straight to the front of the queue, every time. Also, in some areas, our partners can offer free services like spa treatments and massages.
Yes, our finance partners offer a number of payment plans to make it easier to get the treatment you want, at a price you can afford to pay. With no upfront fees, low monthly payments and no prepayment penalties you can start arranging your medical trip as soon as you like. See our guide to Medical Finance for more detail.
As we take all our prices directly from the hospitals and don’t mark any of them up, we are unable to negotiate the prices, unfortunately. But rest assured, booking through us will give you such exposure to the market that you’re guaranteed to find the most suitable facility and you’ll only pay their best price and no more.
Yes, the doctors and staff are used to treating international patients in English, as well as many other languages.
Yes, we can arrange that for you, just fill in your Patient Medical Profile Form (we'll send this to you) and follow the process through. After your medical details and photos have been submitted, then you can discuss further with the doctor.
Various factors come into play, for example, living costs are typically much lower – this includes doctors, nurses, anesthetists and other associated medical staff. Overheads too are cheaper, such as rent, utilities, laboratory materials, insurance, and administration expenses. These 'hidden' expenses can amount to a sizeable chunk on top of your medical bill, so any reduction in these costs will result in considerable savings to you.
Yes, if not better. There are world-class facilities with excellent reputations, many of which are established, recognized centers for international patients. Thanks to the JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation, international facilities are now benchmarked against the same standards as US medical facilities – so look out for the JCI marker, that way you’re guaranteed the highest standards of quality. However, just because a facility is not JCI accredited, doesn’t mean it isn’t on par with the facilities you’ve used at home. At MyMediTravel, we aim to give patients a true representation of the market in one place, so it would not be fair to filter out all the non-JCI accredited facilities, but we do only include the best of these.
Yes, we are only partnered with leading specialists and surgeons who are highly-qualified and experienced in the fields of surgery, cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Yes, due to the large budgets of these facilities, the same world-renowned brands, and state-of-the-art technologies are available. Most people are aware that medical tourist destinations have catered well for cosmetic and plastic surgery, but patients are now just as likely to travel for fertility treatments, stem cell therapies and the latest cancer treatments in specialist high-tech facilities in countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Again, referring back to the JCI accreditation, all these standards are covered and adhered to as part of this and for those who aren’t yet accredited, they must abide by local standards and practices, which also meet extremely high levels.
Our doctors all offer guarantees or warranties on your treatment and although no medical treatment can ever be completely guaranteed due to the different ways our bodies react, the key to ensuring a successful outcome is to have your treatment performed by qualified and experienced medical staff in facilities that meet stringent hygiene and safety requirements. It is also imperative that you follow the post-treatment guidelines and advice so as not to jeopardize the healing process - for more information, refer to our Aftercare page.
Many thousands of patients travel abroad for successful medical, surgical and cosmetic treatments, but in the rare event something does go wrong, you should let your local doctor know immediately, or get in touch with our Customer Support Team here at MyMediTravel. We are more than happy to assist in getting any problem put right and will act as your advocate if any issues arise.
We would also suggest taking out additional low-cost medical complications insurance before you travel - and although this won't stop you having any problems, it will at least cover any additional accommodation or travel expenses you may incur, which is one less thing to worry about. See our guide to Medical Insurance for more detail.
This really depends on what procedures you have. Some cosmetic procedures, such as Botox or fillers can be carried out in a matter of minutes, and there is virtually no downtime so you won't have to stay. Surgery is a different matter. Although many surgical treatments can be carried out as an out-patient these days, you will usually have to stay around for a week or so to have stitches removed, although this can often be performed by your local doctor when you arrive home. Other big surgical procedures may necessitate you staying for longer - we can advise you, but the final decision rests with your surgeon.
Yes, but we recommend traveling with somebody who can support and assist you. This will help you feel more at ease, especially if you’re in a new country for the first time. However, if this isn’t an option, all the hospital staff will give you all the care and attention you’d expect, if not more.
First, you should start refining your search and submit your interest to us, that way we can understand what procedure you want and where you want to have it. Then continue to complete your Patient Medical Profile (we'll email this to you), adding photos where necessary and submitting to your chosen hospital. Once all the arrangements are in place, you’re free to book your trip. We have many partner hotels near to the hospitals who give us really good discounts that can’t be found anywhere else on the internet, but we understand if you’d prefer to find this yourself.
We don't currently organize flights, but there are some great deals to be had if you check regularly. Traveling out of season is one way to reduce costs, both on flights and accommodation, and we can certainly assist you with accommodation recommendations.
It isn't always necessary, but if you do have any health issues, these should be listed as part of our Medical Details section, which is sent off to the hospital of your choice. If you are having surgery to correct a particular health problem, such as hip or knee replacements then a medical history from your own doctor would be useful.
In some cases, you may be able to, but you will need to check with your insurance provider to see if they cover for 'out-of-network' care, which may allow you to reclaim your expenses when you return home.
Many of our hospitals do offer this and we’ll be sure to notify you of such services.
