About Malaysia

Malaysia is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country in Southeast Asia and the country charms its visitors with lively metropolis, beautiful beaches, pleasant islands, rainforests, and incredible wildlife. Recently, the country has also been attracting visitors to its superior medical facilities that offer affordable prices and high-tech equipment. The country has seen significant growth in the number of medical tourists, with 1.2 million visitors who came for healthcare treatment in 2018. Other than the cost-effective prices, many people prefer Malaysia as their medical destination because the doctors are well-qualified, and the country holds a large number of world-class medical centers. The most desirable medical procedures are cosmetic surgerys, and LASIK procedures.

Popular Cities and Regions

The capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, is one of the most visited countries in the world. Tourists should visit the 1,500 feet tall Petronas Twin Towers, try its culinary delights, explore the Batu Caves, and see the Sri Mahamariamman Temple. For an island retreat, Pulau Langkawi offers sandy beaches, endless sunshine, and traditional villages. The most popular beach on the island is Pantai Cenang, and the ocean surrounding the island offers some excellent snorkeling spots to see the diverse marine life. Another enchanting holiday destination in Malaysia is Penang, which is home to Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with British Raj architecture and historic sites. Other famous cities are Malacca, Johor Bahru, and Kuching.

Transport

International visitors will likely arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), which is the biggest and the busiest airport in the country. To get from one region to another, budget flights such as AirAsia and Malindo Air are the best option. Malaysia also has a comprehensive bus network that connects all major cities and towns. Traveling inside major cities is easy since there are various modes of transport, including taxis, minibusses, buses, trishaws, and trains.
